Target Audience

Training Personnel, Safety Technicians, Safety Coordinators and others with responsibilities for (H2S) training and safety. The course content assumes that participants are familiar with the basics for (H2S).

Aim

This course meets the requirements for Instructor Development under the Newly Revised ANSIZ-390.1-2006.

Objectives

It provide participants with the skills, knowledge, and techniques to develop and provide site-specific, technical skill-level Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) training programs to the petroleum industry, utilities, research and development, laboratories, transportation, paper/pulp/food processing, chemical manufacturing and other companies with H2S at their facilities.

• Physical and chemical properties of H2S
• Safe work procedures for hydrogen sulfide
• Acute and chronic exposure consequences
• Contingency and emergency response plans
• Dispersion models
• Burning & flaring attributes and hazards
• Methods of detection and monitoring

• Case studies.
• Training and Instructional techniques for trainer
• Develop an effective training program for their sites

Target Audience

The Emergency First Response Instructor Course provides qualified individuals with additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), and Care for Children courses.

Aim

The Emergency First Response Course builds on the Instructor candidates skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing their instructional abilities.

Objectives

• Assure that instructor candidates understand the Emergency First Response program structure, requirements, and procedures.
• Familiarize instructor candidates with the Emergency First Response program philosophy and prepare them to teach courses that are low-stress,performance-based, and learner-centered.
• Refine instructor candidates primary care and Care for children skills to role-model level.
• Provide instructor candidates with practical suggestions for organizing and marketing their Emergency First Response courses.
• Encourage instructor candidates to be active Emergency First Response Instructors and to use their skills to train others in the community

Pre-requisites:

To enroll in an Emergency First Response Instructor Course, an individual must:

• Have completed a sanctioned course in adult/infant CPR within the past 24 months.
• Have completed a sanctioned course in basic first aid within the past 24 months.
• 18 years of age.

NOTE:

To maintain the Emergency First Response Instructor rating, individuals must renew their rating every two years by submitting a renewal application to Emergency First Response. By renewing, instructors agree to stay up-to-date with Emergency First Response course standards and implement any changes announced in The Responder.
